Configuring Windows 10 Mail app using Exchange ActiveSync (recommended)

This guide shows how to set up an email account hosted by Surftown, in the Windows 10 Mail app, using Exchange ActiveSync. Besides synchronizing your emails, Exchange ActiveSync will also let you synchronize calendars, tasks and contacts.

Before we get started

First and foremost, you need to have your email account and it's password ready. If you haven't created an email address yet, then you can do so by following this guide.

If you have forgotten your email address' password, then you can reset it by following this guide.

Email account setup

When adding the email account, start by clicking the "Advanced setup" button:


Next, click "Exchange ActiveSync":


Now enter the following:

Email address: The address you are trying to add. We are using mail@surftown.email in our example
Password: The email address' password
User name: The address you are trying to add. We are using mail@surftown.email in our example

Domain: Leave this field empty
Server: sync.surftown.com

Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection: Enabled

Account name: A description of the account. Enter your email address if you are in doubt

Press the "Sign in" button once you are done:

 


The app will now test the settings. When done, press the "Done" button.
