Configuring Outlook 2016 for Mac

To configure Outlook 2016 to connect to your Surftown e-mail account, please follow the instructions below.

Throughout this guide we will use 'yourdomain.tld' as a replacement for your actual domain. 'youremail@yourdomain.tld' is used as a replacement for your actual e-mail address.


1. Open up Outlook 2016, click on the Tools menu and select Accounts...

2. Press Other Email

3. Enter your e-mail address in the field E-mail address

4. Do as follows

  1. Enter your password
  2. Fill out the rest of the form as follows:
    • User name: youremail@yourdomain.tld
    • Type: IMAP
    • Incoming server: mail.surftown.com
    • Check the box 'Use SSL to connect (recommended)'
    • Outgoing server: mail.surftown.com
    • Check the box 'Override default port'
    • Port: 587
    • Check the box 'Use SSL to connect (recommended)'
  3. Press Add Account

5. Do as follows

  • Press Advanced...

Advanced

    1. Deselect the 'Use IMAP IDLE if the server supports it' box
    2. Write 'INBOX' in the IMAP Root Folder field
    3. Press OK

6. You can now close the window to save your settings
