How do I find / sign a data-processing agreement for Surftown?
If you use your website to collect information about visitors to the site, for instance if you gather email addresses for a newsletter or similar, you need to ensure that you meet the new data protection requirements. As part of our implementation of the new data protection requirements, we provide a data-processing agreement for all our customers.
We act as data processor for the personal data you hold as a data controller, about your customers / visitors, on our servers. According to the new requirements, you must therefore have a data-processing agreement with us.
We deliver this in the form of a digitally signed document, which you can find / sign from your webhosting control panel.
This guide shows how it works.
1. Log in here.
2. Go to the Settings menu in the top right corner of the page.
3. Click the Data Processing Agreement button in the Account category.
4. (optional) Check the box if you would like us to keep you informed in case we make changes to our list of sub data-processors.
Then click the Data Processing Agreement button.
5. Surftown's data-processing agreement is now displayed. The first time you open this, you will have the opportunity to sign the document. We recommend that you read through the agreement before signing it.
At the bottom of the page, you will find a field where you can click and drag the mouse to write your signature on the document.
Click the Generate PDF button to send in your signature to Surftown, and save a copy of the document to your computer.
If needed, you can open the document again later via the control panel if you need to download another copy of the signed document.
